Scholarships for Single Mothers
SunSouth Bank has pledged $25,000 ($5,000 per year for five years) to Wallace Community College to provide for scholarships to single mothers needing financial assistance to help them upgrade their skills and improve their ability to support themselves and their family.
Using the funds provided by SunSouth Bank, Wallace Community College will administer the scholarships and provide the necessary training. Contact Dr. Kay Roney, Dean of Institutional Advancement, 334-983-3521 for details.

- April Thomas graduated in May 2010 with a technical certificate in Child Development.
- Vicki Thomas graduated in May 2010 with a technical certificate in Medical Assistant.
- Tori Waters is enrolled in Pre-nursing.
- Mindy Morrison is enrolled in the Physical Therapist program
- Joanne Williams is in the Criminal Justice Program
- Angela Hearns is in the Practical Nursing Program
- Kimberly Stanford is in the Practical Nursing Program
- Patricia Kramer graduated in May 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
In addition, four students have been selected (not pictured) to receive scholarships for Summer Semester 2010 from the SunSouth Bank, Single Mothers Education Fund.
- Tonya Chatwood is pursuing a degree in Nursing and is also a previous winner.
- Kimberly Keller seeks a degree in nursing.
- Lynsey Krueger is enrolled in nursing.
- Beverly Reaves is in the respiratory therapy program
Their entire staff and leadership of SunSouth Bank is proud to play its part in this vital program and wish to thank the staff of Wallace College for the very difficult task of selecting the winners from scores of worthy candidates.
