SERVING THE WOMEN OF THE WIREGRASS

 

SunSouth Bank is dedicated to assisting the women of the Wiregrass area obtain the knowledge and understanding necessary to help them better manage the financial dimension of their lives. The objective is to assist women everywhere in making more informed financial decisions that can benefit themselves, their partners and their families.

 

Consequently, SunSouth Bank has created a number of programs to assist women achieve a higher level of understanding of financial issues that affect their lives. All women, whether or not they are members of the SunSouth Bank family, are invited to participate in these valuable programs. It is part of SunSouth Bank’s commitment to “give back to the community.”

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SINGLE MOTHERS

SunSouth Bank has pledged $25,000 ($5,000 per year for five years) to Wallace College to provide for scholarships to single mothers needing financial assistance to help them upgrade their skills and improve their ability to support themselves and their family.

Using the funds provided by SunSouth Bank, Wallace College will administer the scholarships and provide the necessary training. Contact Dr. Kay Roney, Wallace Community College, 334-983-3521 for details.

SUNSOUTH BANK WOMEN’S ADVISORY BOARD

SunSouth Bank has established a Women’s Advisory Board to identify ways and means in which the Bank can help the women of the Wiregrass achieve financial security and independence – to be capable of discovering their own financial destiny.

The Board, made up of twenty-five women from across the Wiregrass community, meets several times a year to provide creative ideas for ways SunSouth Bank can help the women of the Wiregrass gain greater understanding of the financial dimension of their lives. The Bank is especially proud that Dawn Dunning-Theune has assumed the Chairmanship of this outstanding group.

The depth and variety of ideas advanced by the Board underscores the tremendous need that exists for greater understanding of the financial issues in the lives of the women of the Wiregrass. SunSouth Bank is excited to assume a position of leadership in providing this kind of help to women in every corner of our community.
